On Saturday, March 28, more than 100 people gathered at Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis for MinistryFocus‘ first conference. The conference, “How to Walk With a Full Cup of Coffee (And Other Useful Skills for Ministry)“ was presented by Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) and featured keynotes, breakout sessions, and Q&A time from national ministry leaders.
MinistryFocus exists to help church workers focus on ministry so that more people might come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. After listening to the concerns and suggestions of seminarians facing their first call, MinistryFocus set to work planning the conference, inviting experts from all over the country to come and share with the participants. The goal of the conference was to address the expressed needs of seminarians by providing a day to share the knowledge and resources they’ll need to successfully focus on ministry in their future roles.
The keynote speakers for the conference were Rev. Greg Finke, Executive Director of Dwelling 1:14 and Rev. Greg Walton, District President of the Florida/Georgia District. During the seven workshops throughout the day, session leaders brought a wide variety of ministry expertise, including representatives from the LCMS Youth Ministry Office, LCEF, and Concordia Seminary.
Event participants had a great response to their day with MinistryFocus, indicating that they found the conference to be very helpful. The MinistryFocus family prays that the knowledge and resources shared during this event will help professional church workers in their ministry so that more people can hear the good news of salvation in Christ.
